The Utah Lake Authority works with government entities, property owners, stakeholders, and private parties to encourage recreation, facilitate improvements, and implement management strategies at Utah Lake. We want you to love the lake as much as we do. And we do everything we can to make the lake a fun, safe, accessible place for everyone.

In short, we exist to help you, the public, get the most of Utah Lake, one of the State’s largest natural treasures. With that in mind, utahlake.org serves as a public portal to help promote, inform, sustain, and protect the lake.

Utah Lake Authority was founded to replace Utah Lake Commission in 2023. We hope to promote multiple public uses of the lake and facilitate orderly planning and development in and around the lake.

Who We Are

We’re lake lovers! Whether we grew up here or not, all of us have grown to love and appreciate the beauty and recreation Utah Lake has to offer. Our team sees the potential in the lake and want to do our part to improve the any areas of concern and make sure that the lake is healthy and full of life. We love the lake and advocate for its value.

We strive to:

  1. Encourage and promote multiple uses of the lake
  2. Foster communication and coordination between Authority members and the public
  3. Promote resource utilization and protection
  4. Maintain and develop recreation access
  5. Monitor and promote responsible economic development

As we address these issues, we hope to protect, preserve, enhance, and enjoy the lake for generations to come.
